Welcome!

We're just a family, living in Buffalo, NY trying to raise some kids, and have some fun while doing it. He's a computer guy and she works in a hospital. Two little boys (ages 3 and 2) who have everyone they know wrapped around their tiny, little fingers.

Over A Year Later

So it has been a very long time since I blogged. Mostly because I forgot that I had one. (If it weren't for my hero the Crockpot Lady and 'Laughlin's Beef and Guinness Stew' I would still be walking around forgetting that I had a blog.

So, the last time I wrote in my blog, I had a new born son. As of Monday, he is 13 months old. My, how time flies.

Danny is growing and advancing slower than most other babies his age. He crawled later, still isn't walking and isn't babbling either. My best friend, her daughter is 20 days older than Danny, and let me tell you it's hard not to compare. But I have been much better since all it does is make me depressed. I've kind of taught myself to not worry until my doctor tells me its time.

When we went for his 12 month appointment a week ago (his appointment was much after his birthday to begin with and then we had a pounding of snow and I couldn't get off my street - and apparently neither could his doctor - so the appointment was postponed some more. She was not concerned with his weight or height, his lack of walking, but the lack of babble has her concerned. At some point, someone will come into our house to observe his speaking skills. (That is if he's old enough, if not he'll go to an audiologist.)

So moming and housewifery has become difficult for me. I took a class in November and December, and hopefully that class will get my foot in the door for getting a job at a hospital. I check the Kenmore Mercy Hospital job postings like 6 times a day, hoping that soon they will post a job. Word around the hospital is that they are trying to get approval for a new position. (It's called Sterile Processing - I would be part of a team that sterilizes instruments for surgery and what not.)

Also, at this time, I am finally writing a book. We'll see how that goes. I haven't done much writing since the first day, but I have been transferring what I have from legal pad to computer, so at least I'm still working on it and I am teaking it, as I progress.

That's it for now.
